Meet Ruqayyah Abdul-Rahim, CMT NMT
Ruqayyah Abdul-Rahim, CMT NMT is an expert in relieving head, neck & shoulder pain most commonly caused by sitting at a desk all day or continually looking down at your phone. Ruqayyah helps her clients manage chronic pain, relax, reduce stress, & lead healthier lives. She often uses multiple modalities in each session depending on your needs/wants. Her favorite modalities are deep tissue, craniosacral (to relieve headaches and migraines) and neuromuscular therapy.
Ruqayyah graduated from massage school in 2011 from the International School of Skin & Nailcare & Massage Therapy (ISSNMT). Three months after graduating Ruqayyah opened a Massage Wellness Clinic with a classmate in Georgia. Although the partnership only lasted 6 months, Ruqayyah went on to run the business solo and added a second location a few months later. She hired additional therapists to help with her busy practice.
Ruqayyah continued her education in the Advanced Neuromuscular Massage Therapy (ANMT) program at the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, CA. The ANMT program is a rigorous training to ensure massage therapist can work with Primary Care Providers, Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, and Personal Trainers to provide clients with holistic care. Ruqayyah has worked with hundreds of clients that range from athletes to mothers to students to working women.
Ruqayyah is also trained in aromatherapy, prenatal, postnatal, TMJ dysfunction, hot stone, Swedish, neurophysiologic therapies, detox, reflexology, sports, and clothed table/chair massage. Ruqayyah loves using her "steel pillow hands" (a term her Massage Therapy Instructor coined for her) to help her clients.
